LACOUR ENERGY SUPPORTS RAIL TRAIL STRUCTURAL INSPECTION

The Shire of West Arthur has been successful in a funding application to Lacour Energy towards the costs of hiring a consultant to carry out an inspection of structures on the Collie-Darkan Rail Trail.

Shire President Cr Karen Harrington said, “The Collie-Darkan Rail Trail is an important community and tourist recreational site, and the integrity of structures on it is vital for users’ safety. The Shire thanks Lacour Energy's commitment to the Shire of West Arthur through their support of this project.”

She went on to say, “The Rail Trail is the second-longest of its kind in Western Australia, and is used by walkers, cyclists, accessible cyclists and horse-riders. Continuing access to this asset ensures that the wider community and visitors can enjoy the benefits of using the trail brings, not just in physical health, but also in mental wellbeing.”

The structures to be inspected include bridges, as well as loading ramps along the trail.
