Natural Resource Management Officer

The Role of the NRMO is to focus on the economic and environmentally sustainability of land use within the Shire, with particular emphasis on salinity issues.

BIOSECURITY OFFICER/WEED COORDINATOR

The Coordinator is responsible for all weed inquiries, both declared and non declared, arranging fox bait permits and can offer advice on feral pig, rabbit and weevil control.

HEALTH

Darkan Child Health

The Child Health Clinic provides health services to the 0-5 year population and their parents/carers. The main aims are to:

  1. provides developmental screening for 0-5 year olds, and to ensure early intervention for any problem identified;
  2. provide guidance and education for parents /carers on parenting, normal development, safety etc;
  3. also provides monthly immunisation service.

Home & Community Care (HACC)

The Home & Community Care program is for frail aged and younger disabled people and their carers. The aim of the program is to help consumers and carers to remain living independently in their own homes and the community. Assessments by the Coordinator are necessary before services can be obtained. Fees are assessed according to income level. The Program is jointly funded by State and Commonwealth Governments and administered by the Shire Of Wagin. HACC covers the shires of Wagin & West Arthur.
