Leading Hand – Parks and Gardens  Permanent Full-Time 

The Shire of West Arthur has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-timeLeading Hand – Parks and Gardens. In this role, you'll be supervising and working with the Parks and Gardens team, while carrying out various park and garden tasks.  

We are looking for:

  • Sound knowledge of the operation of plant and equipment.
  • Proven experience driving various plant in a safe and productive manner.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of work health and safety practices.

This position is offered at level 5 plus over award of the Local Government Industry Award 2020, depending on experience, with an opportunity to increase after twelve months. Other benefits include the opportunity for overtime, 76 hrs per fortnight (9-day fortnight), adverse working conditions allowance and 12% super guarantee plus an extra 3.5% for matching additional contribution.

The Shire provides a housing allowance pro rata of $60 per week for full time and part-time employment positions. Subsidised housing available if required.
