Seniors Meal Coordinator

 A part time position is available for approximately 4-6 hours per week to coordinate the Senior’s Meals programme. 

 The Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative components of the programme which will include determining the menu plan, advertising the menu, liaising with the seniors to collate orders, determining quantities of ingredients required for the orders made, ordering the ingredients, preparing the labels for the meals, and coordinating the volunteers who will do the cooking. 

 Communication skills are essential to liaise with the older members of the community, volunteers and the Project Manager.  Experience with catering or cooking for large groups would be preferable.  The ideal candidate will be someone who is computer literate. 

 Senior’s meals are cooked by volunteers on Thursdays at the Darkan Town Hall kitchen.  Generally three volunteers cook each week.  The coordinator could potentially work from the Shire Office, Darkan Hall or from home, on a Thursday or at a time that suits that person.
