The Shire of West Arthur would like to congratulate former resident of the Shire, Mr John Bird, for his Order of Australia Medal in the recent 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List. John was recognised for his service to local government and the Collie community. Among his achievements, John authored a number of books, including “West of the Arthur”, a history of the West Arthur district.
