Information Sessions for Collaborative Opportunities in Carbon Farming in the Shire of West Arthur Area

Alinta Energy is inviting landowners in the Shire of West Arthur to attend townhall meetings on Tuesday 12 March and Wednesday 13 March 2024 at Darkan Town Hall, Coalfields Highway, West Arthur, from 5:00pm till 7:00pm, to learn more about opportunities to deliver carbon sequestration and biodiversity benefits with Alinta Energy.

After extensive evaluation, Alinta Energy has identified viable opportunities to partner with local landowners to undertake a collaborative Nature-based Solution project. The initiative not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also offers the potential to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units under the Emissions Reduction Fund, generating an additional income stream for landowners.

To engage with the local community and discuss this opportunity, Alinta Energy will be hosting townhall meetings in the Shire of West Arthur area on Tuesday 12 March and Wednesday 13 March 2024 from 5:00pm till 7:00pm at Darkan Town Hall. The townhalls will aim to provide detailed insights into the project, address any enquiries from landowners, and explore the mutual benefits of such partnerships.

Alinta Energy’s General Manager of New Markets, Marc Barrington, said he was looking forward to discussing the opportunities with landowners.

“We have some really good options that I think will work well with existing land uses and types, and the team and I are looking forward to discussing them at the Boddington Sport and Recreation Centre on 12 and 13 March,” he said.

Local landowners who are interested in learning more about this opportunity are encouraged to contact Alinta Energy on 08 9422 5971 or naturebasedsolutions@alintaenergy.com.au.
