Hillman Reserve Walk Trail Project
In June 2023, the Shire was awarded a grant by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) to undertake a desktop study of Aboriginal Heritage and a desktop Environmental Site Assessment of Hillman Reserve to determine if the Reserve is suitable to develop a walk trail. In addition, the Shire has received funding from the Federal Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure program (LRCIP) to undertake the on-ground Aboriginal Archaeological and Ethnographic Survey and the construction of the Hillman Access Track. It is proposed to undertake the survey in February and construction will occur prior to the onset of winter rainfall in 2024.
