APPLICANT INFORMATION

 

  1. Included with this information is a copy of the Position Description. If any further information is required please do not hesitate to contact the Shire.
  2. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2020 Level 4. The Shire pays 15% over award in the first year of employment and 25% in second and subsequent years. The commencement hourly rate is $27.22, including over award payment, plus adverse working conditions allowance of $0.83 per hour worked.
  3. Tasks may include gardening, cleaning, property maintenance, refuse removal, roadside slashing and general townsite maintenance. Works will predominantly be in the Darkan townsite, however there may be occasions when there is a requirement to work in other areas of the Shire.
  4. A three month probationary period will apply.
  5. If own housing is provided, a $60 per week allowance will apply.
  6. You will be entitled to a uniform including three pairs of trousers, three shirts, two jumpers and Jacket purchased annually. Boots will be replaced on an as needs basis.
  7. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a full medical examination prior to an offer of employment.
  8. Prior to any offer of employment, the applicant will be required to produce a police clearance. A criminal record does not necessarily disqualify an applicant. If rejection of your application is considered solely because of a criminal record you will be given the opportunity to discuss the matter fully before a final decision is made.
  9. Canvassing of Councillors will disqualify.
