The latest Storm event has caused some minor issues to the Shire of West Arthur Road Network, particularly fallen trees, the Works crew have been busily removing trees, erecting signs cleaning debris and making drainage repairs to our roads.
 
The Latest BOM Severe Weather Alert Issued at Issued at 4:38 am Friday, 30 July 2021 - A strong cold front will continue to move across the south parts of the South West Land Division during Friday morning with possible damaging wind gusts.. Please consider your travel options with respect to this alert.
 
Please be aware of the following road conditions:
• Capercup Rd North– CLOSED – water over Rd 1km North O’Connell Rd
• Noble Rd – CLOSED - water over road
• Shield Rd – CLOSED - Culvert failure
• Eulin Crossing Road – CLOSED - High water level on floodway
• Moodiarrup South Road – CLOSED - High water level on floodway
• Quill Rd - water over road at the Arthur River Bridge
• Clarke Rd - water over road
• King Rd - water over road
• Bunce King Rd - water over road
• Arthur River Boyup Brook Rd – Water over road near Arthur River Bridge
 
Please note all Shire Gravel Roads are closed to Vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, (under section s3.5 of the Local Government Act & Road Traffic Act 1974 s84).
 
Vehicles over 4.5 tonnes have been reported using these gravel roads, causing damage and risking the safety of other road users. Unauthorised use will result in fines and penalties.
 
Please take caution, be aware of road hazards, slow down and drive to the conditions of the road, if you’re unsure of the conditions seek an alternative route.
 
If you notice any damage to Shire roads or infrastructure, please, in the first instance call the shire office and raise a Customer Service Request (CSR).
 
In an emergency or imminent severe property damage please call the Works & Services Manager 0n 0427 362 214.
 
Please note Albany Highway and Coalfields Road are under the care and control of Main Roads Western Australia, If there are any issues with these roads please contact MRWA, on their Incident Response Line 13 81 38.
