The warm weather has helped with drying out of the roads however there are still some roads that have residual flood damage or “blow outs” from heavy vehicles.

 ***Please note several sections of Arthur River Boyup Brook Rd has subgrade water pavement damage approx. 3km from Albany Highway continuing 15km west. Hazard signs in place, please drive safely and observe all signs. Repairs to be carried out as soon as feasibly possible.

  • Bokal East Arthur Rd, Morrell Bridge – OPEN – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Bunce King Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Bokal Sth Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  water damage, minor washouts.
  • Boscabel Chittinup Rd – OPEN – some minor sand blowouts due to heavy vehicles, under repair 3/12/21.
  • Capercup Rd North – OPEN – CAUTION – minor ruts from washouts.
  • Capercup Rd SW – OPEN – CAUTION – minor ruts from washouts 1km from Dura Bowelling Rd.
  • Clarke Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Dawson Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  water damage, minor ruts from washouts.
  • Eulin Crossing Road – OPEN – caution minor floodway pavement damage.
  • Gibbs Rd Sth of Trigwell Bridge Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  water damage, minor ruts from washouts.
  • Gorn Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Howie Rd – OPEN – Caution minor “blowouts” repaired.
  • Lloyd Rd – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Moodiarrup South Road – OPEN – minor ruts from washouts.
  • Noble Rd – OPEN – CAUTION – minor ruts from washouts.
  • O’Connell Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  minor ruts from washouts.
  • Rees Rd – OPEN – CAUTION  water damage and minor ruts from washouts.
  • Shield Rd  CLOSED  Culvert failure

Please note a significant number of roads are under assessment for DRFAWA Flood damage, as such we are presently limited in remediation options, signs have been put out to alert drivers to hazards, however please slow down and drive to the road conditions, if you’re unsure of the conditions seek an alternative route.

Please note all Shire Gravel Roads are OPEN to Vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, apart from the above mentioned closed road, (under section s3.5 of the Local Government Act & Road Traffic Act 1974 s84).  RAV4 Vehicles (ie Double Road Trains), require permits and are subject to conditions set by MRWA Heavy Vehicles.

Please note Albany Highway and Coalfields Road are under the care and control of Main Roads Western Australia, If there are any issues with these roads please contact MRWA, on their Incident Response Line 13 81 38.
