The Shire of West Arthur supports volunteers in the preparation of meals for seniors once a week. The meals are cooked on a Thursday morning and can be collected from the Shire hall from 12.00 noon or will be delivered to the seniors home on request. Order forms are available from the Shire office and orders need to be in on Fridays to allow the volunteers to do the shopping. Menus are organised by the Shire coordinator and can take into consideration special dietary requirements.
The Shire is always looking for volunteers to help with the cooking. We generally have 2-3 people helping in the kitchen each week. If you would like to volunteer, then contact the Shire and we will organise a quick tour of the kitchen and an induction to get you started. You will be partnered with other more experienced volunteers to get you started.
