Finance/Administration Officer 

The Shire of West Arthur is seeking applications for the position of finance officer. The position is full time, however job share or part time roles may be considered.

 

Duties will include payroll, debtors, creditors, rates, customer service and other administrative and finance related functions.

Kids Central Childcare

Early Childhood Teacher – approx. 5hrs/Week – Temporary

The Shire of West Arthur is seeking a suitably qualified person to join the team at Kids Central Childcare Centre. The role is a temporary position up to 5hrs/week.  Wages are negotiable in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2010.

Applicants must hold ALL of the following in order to be recognised as equivalent to an early childhood teacher:

  • a primary teaching qualification that includes at least a focus on children aged 5 to 8 years old (e.g. a qualification with a focus on children aged 3 to 8 or 5 to 12) AND
  • teacher registration in Australia (or accreditation in New South Wales) AND
  • an approved education and care diploma or higher qualification (e.g. approved graduate diploma) published on ACECQA's qualification lists. 

This position involves assisting in the development & implementation of educational play based programs, including direct responsibility for a group of children.

Responsibilities include:

  • To be the lead trainer, advisor and mentor to all educators at Kids Central Childcare
  • Reflecting, reviewing & evaluating to programs offered by the centre, to be consistent with the organisations direction, particularly through offering support to educators.
  • To oversee the development of and maintain our centre’s Quality improvement plans, to review and update these in collaboration with our the Kids Central team
  • Working in a supportive & collaborative relationship with all educators by providing supervision & guidance through program support.
  • A strong understanding of critical inquiry in order to build a culture among our team.
  • Being an advocate for children, their rights, citizenship & competence.
  • Engaging with our Educating team to develop & enhance their understanding of the EYLF, National Quality Framework & QIP.
  • Assisting the educational group leaders through all stages of programming.
  • Developing a consultative approach style that is equitable yet challenging & encourages professional growth, skill development, commitment & continuous improvement for team members.
  • Promoting sustainability in all facets of our practices.
  • To support Educators with inclusion practices for all children & their families.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • To maintain a professional approach to your work that reflects the centre’s philosophy, policies and procedures, and ensures confidentiality in all aspects of the centre’s operations.
