REGULAR EVENTS
New Residents Evening
A new residents evening is held once a year by the Shire of West Arthur. The aim of this evening is to bring together new residents, councillors and members from community and sporting groups and hold a "Sundowner" function.
Australia Day Breakfast
Held every year on the 26th January on the banks of Lake Towerrinning. Enjoy an aussie barbecue breakfast supplied by local sponsors, and prepared by your local councillors and council workers. Includes official ceremony for Australia day including flag raising and announcement of citizen of the Year awards.
Quiltorama
Each year in Spring a display of patchwork quilts made by local and visiting quilters is held at Duralyn Patchworks Barn near Duranillin. Heather Jefferies of Duralyn Patchworks, the Darkan-Dura Quilters group and the West Arthur Telecentre work together to bring you a wonderfully creative display, and a relaxing day with devonshire teas and lunches in the gardens at Duralyn Park. The event is a fundraiser for the West Arthur Telecentre.
