Council's environmental health officer is responsible for assessment and monitoring of public and environmental health issues within the community. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Routine premises inspections
• Assess applications relating to onsite effluent disposal and relevant inspection at installation
• Investigate complaints
• Address waste management issues
• Monitor the standard of the water at the Darkan Swimming Pool
