All dogs must be registered at three months of age. The licenses are renewable on 1st November each year and may be paid for either one year or for three years. Concessions apply to bonifide stock, sterilized and pensioners dogs.

Dogs must be on a lead at all times while in public areas except designated exercise areas. The designated areas are Darkan town common above Arthur Street and Duranillin Old stockyards.
